A330 Neo devine realitate.

Following a decision by the Board of Directors of the Group, Airbus has launched the A330-800neo and A330-900neo, two new members of its Widebody Family, which will incorporate latest generation Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines, aerodynamic enhancements and new cabin features. Benefitting from the unbeatable economics, versatility and high reliability of the A330, the A330neo reduces fuel consumption by 14% per seat, making it the most cost efficient, medium range Widebody aircraft on the market. In addition to greater fuel savings, A330neo operators will benefit from a range increase of up to 400 nautical miles and all the operational commonality advantages of the Airbus Family. Deliveries of the A330neo will start in Q4 2017.

Boeing chief executive Ray Conner re-affirmed his confidence in the competitiveness of his product line-up against new competition in the form of the newly-launched A330-800 and -900.
"We know the [A330] very well,” Conner says. “We knew the airplane in the 1980s.”

By contrast, the 787 was a clean-sheet airframe when it was launched in 2003, introducing an all-composite fuselage and wing, electric-powered cabin pressurisation and wing-deicing and the General Electric GEnx family of engines. It also stumbled in development with a more than three-year delay and at entry-into-service, with mission dispatch rating still a full percentage point beneath Boeing’s benchmark average of 99.5%.

Conner notes that airlines rejected Airbus’ original plan for the A350 in 2005, which was essentially a re-enginining. The new model is the “same airplane they brought forward in 2005”, Conner says.

Oricum , in widebody situatia e cam asa... A330 reinnoit vs 787 nou, A350 nou vs 777 reinnoit, A380 nou vs 747 mort clinic.

Noul 330-800 o sa le manince piata unui posibil urmas 757 la Boeing, aia e buba care ii doare. Airbus le toaca segmentul atiti cu 321 pe short haul cit si cu 330 pe medium.
