It seems that Alfa Air Services Romania (http://www.alfa-air.eu/en/aboutus.html), would start operating as KON TIKI SKY - a new low cost brand - with scheduled services into the EU market. Its intended hub airport Bucharest and Constanta !!!!

http://www.kontikisky.com/index.php/en/about-kontikisky

Accordingly to another news source Kon Ticky Sky would also like to start flights to 14 new destinations out of Skopje, Macedonia (FYROM) ??? ??? ???

http://www.balkans.com/open-news.php?uniquenumber=139404

Here's Kon Ticky Sky's website http://www.kontikisky.com/ Have a look at the number of destination-aiports in Romania to be operated to/from 8) 8) 8)

Looks just like a fail.
On their "Fleet" page, we can read a draft of the 735 history, but we can't find anything regarding their fleet size/age.

According to a press release:
Alfa Air under its “brandname” “Kontikisky.com” starts scheduled services as of April 30, 2012 from Skopje to:

BASLE
(5 x times weekly)
DUSSELDORF
(3 x times weekly)
STUTTGART
(2 x times weekly)
HAMBURG
(2 x times weekly)
BERLIN
(2 x times weekly)
MALMO
(2 x times weekly)
ISTANBUL
(2 x times weekly)

If this is going to happen, I'll do everything to be in Dusseldorf to see them land there.

Well, it appears that until recently KON TIKI SKY used a single B735 aircraft - of an unknown origin to me at least. The novelty here is that the new envisioned LCC will start operating under Alfa Air Services' AOC making use of two RJ85 ?? If you look at Alfa's current fleet you'll find a single 34 seat VIP configuration BAe 146-200 !?

In the past they used the 735 of MAT airways. Here some shots from A.net: http://www.airliners.net/search/photo.search?airlinesearch=MAT+Airways+(Kon+Tiki+Sky)
With this airplane + the two RJ85s it's impossible to provide LCC operations. The RJ85 is not built for this kind of "jobs".
I'm looking forward to see how things are going to develop and I'd really like to see a new competitor in RO, but this one gives me 0 confidence.

Well guys , a short history :
Actual Kon Tiki Sky was founded pa Kon Tiki Tours (Serbia) and several local macedonian investors as a new airline after MAT Airways stopped activities. Late into 2011, Kon Tiki Serbia sold ist share to a belgium investor "well known" for his activities to bankrupt several companies.
On the other hand , Alfa Air Services have really serious financial problems , so "selling" its AOC to someone that can give some money is suitable for the jewish shareholders.

Two or three days ago on their website you could use their booking engine , so I was able to see "ALRxxx" flight numbers . Now everything is replaced with a new postpone of starting the sell campaign .

On my opinion it is nothing that another "paper airline" that will NEVER FLY.

LE: On their website there is a Press release dated March 21st , stateing that "there is no connection between Alfa Air/Kontikisky.com asn Kontiki Srbja / MAT. Any argument is useless . Look on serbian website on the right bottom and on "new" Alfa Air/Kontikisky.com website , and you can see the same logo !
On the same Press Release it is stated also that the aircraft posted in some newspapers never was intended to be used. Another lie ! On the website there was exactly the picture of that B737-500 which was removed lately.

All these recommend NOT TO TAKE THEM SERIOUSLY !

Guys, I certainly share the same feeling about the so called Kon Tiki Sky "project" A good indication that this is not going to "fly" is the mere fact that even the serbs bailed themselves out of it. It's an old good Italian saying "If you look like a duck, walk like a duck and talk like a duck - guess what! . . . you are just a duck"

Anyhow, Zsolt you should keep an eye on Alfa Air Services fleet development ... just in case those RJ 85 or anything else may pop-up at a later date. It could give us an early indication if they are up to something naughty ... ;D

I will keep an eye on Alfa Air Services and I'll report back. :)
