Incep restructurari serioase ?

Alitalia will initiate a wide-ranging company rebranding in the first quarter of 2015 to transform it into "the sexiest airline in Europe", says Etihad Airways chief executive James Hogan.
With the Abu Dhabi carrier set to take a 49% stake in Alitalia, Hogan says the focus will be on making the Italian flag carrier a premium brand and an "ambassador of Italy", with a focus on promoting the nation's luxury, culture and fashion of Italy...
The Etihad chief makes clear that the existing Alitalia brand is "going nowhere", but adds: "The way Alitalia is going to look in the future is certainly going to be different." Hogan says the plan is to "revamp the brand" in the first quarter of next year, and says a focus on service will be "fundamental" to this strategy.

Air One (AP, Rome Fiumicino) is set to be phased out as a brand with effect from October 1. According to a internal statement made public by Italy's La Stampa newspaper, the airline said its operations thereafter would be taken over by parent, Alitalia (AZ, Rome Fiumicino)...
"The Alitalia Group, in the pursuit of sustainability and as part of a process of streamlining its medium-haul fleet during the upcoming winter season, has decided to operate the services presently offered with the Air One brand, primarily with its own brand Alitalia," the statement read. "Consequently, beginning October 1, together with the usual closure of the summer season routes, most of the connections currently operated by Air One will be operated under the Alitalia brand and aircraft."
Air One intends to close its Catania, Palermo, and Venice Marco Polo bases on September 30 followed by Milan Malpensa, Verona, and Pisa which will also be closed down by October 30.

Deja s-a anuntat o armonizare zborurilor Italia-Germania intre Alitalia si AB.

Tinta Etihad e si long haulul din Europa peste Atlantic.

Acord Alitalia-Air Berlin:

airberlin, Germany’s second largest airline and Alitalia, Italy’s leading carrier, have signed a codeshare agreement to offer more choice and greater convenience to their guests. All of airberlin’s and Alitalia’s 412 weekly nonstop flights between Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy will be codeshare flights effective this winter season.
As of October 26th, airberlin’s three daily flights from Dusseldorf and double daily flights from Berlin-Tegel will operate into Milan-Linate instead of Malpensa. Furthermore, the three daily flights from Vienna operated by NIKI, the Austrian airline which is part of the airberlin group, will be directed to Linate as well.
The partners also agreed on selective codeshares beyond their home hubs. For instance Alitalia will place its “AZ” code on some of airberlin’s domestic flights such as from Munich to Cologne, Dusseldorf, Hamburg and Berlin. At the same time airberlin will place its “AB” code on selected domestic and international Alitalia flights via Rome and Milan-Linate to, for example, Naples, Brindisi, Reggio Calabria, Alghero, Cairo or Malta as well as on some of Alitalia’s long haul flights to South America such as Sao Paolo and Rio de Janeiro. All codeshare flights will be published in the reservation systems by 20th of October 2014 for flights commencing October 26th, 2014. Codesharing on Alitalia’s long-haul connections will commence after regulatory approval

Alitalia (AZ, Rome Fiumicino) will lay off 994 employees who did not sign up for its voluntary redundancy scheme with effect from October 31. Italy's AGI newswire says that of the 994, 879 are ground crew, 61 are pilots, and 54 are flight stewards.
The agreement was signed on the evening of Saturday, October 26, between Alitalia and the FIT CISL Uiltrasporti and UGL Trasporto Aereo unions. Italy's largest union, CGIL, did not sign up to the agreement that was reached in July.
According to the La Stampa newspaper, Alitalia had already retrenched 700 employees who either voluntarily resigned or reached retirement age...

Meanwhile, effective January 2015, Alitalia will base an ATR72-500 belonging to fellow Etihad affiliate, Darwin Airline (F7, Lugano), out of Naples Int'l for use on flights to Catania, Palermo, and Turin.
