Today Voronezh is a large administrative, industrial, scientific and cultural center of Russia. About one million people live on the area of almost 600 sq.km.
35 institutions of university level higher education and 18 institutions of non-university level higher education work in the city. Today more than one hundred thousand students are trained in the institutions of university level higher education. More than 100 scientist of the city's institutes are members of the Russian and international Academies of Sciences. The oldest educational institution - Voronezh State University - is included into the ten of the best institutions of university level higher education of Russia.
Voronezh by right is considered the cultural capital of Central Chernozem territory. This reputation is created not only by remarkable theatres, museums, libraries and cinemas, but also by well-known writers, artists, composers, actors, whose creativity makes glory for Russia.
